Understanding how to operate the aircraft is the first essential step.
Flight Modes of the Aircraft
You can change the aircraft's control mode on the top right of the remote control. There are three modes in total, ranging from easy to difficult, allowing you to learn and challenge more difficult RC Warbird flying step by step:
- Beginner Mode: In this mode, the aircraft is completely stable and cannot perform rolls or other maneuvers.Even if you push the stick all the way to the left or right, the aircraft will not drop, making it suitable for first-time users. It is recommended to use this mode to get familiar with the flight rhythm and smooth turns, as well as learning to take off and land more smoothly.
- Middle Mode: In this mode, you have more control over the ailerons and rudder, but the gyroscope is still on and prioritizes balance. The aircraft will be faster and more challenging, but even in this mode, pushing the stick all the way cannot perform rolls or loops. It is recommended to use this mode to experience faster speeds and better control.
- Expert Mode: In this mode, the gyroscope is set to a lower level, giving you full control over the aircraft. It tests your fine control skills, and you need to pay attention to the aircraft's pitch and speed during turns to avoid potential stalls and crashes. In summary, you will be flying like a real pilot.
Aircraft Control Sticks
The control sticks are the core of controlling the aircraft, determining the attitude in which you fly the aircraft.
Left Stick
The left stick controls the throttle up and down, and the rudder left and right.
When controlling the throttle, push it steadily and lightly.
Be cautious of direction and balance when accelerating quickly to avoid losing balance.The left and right control of the rudder allows the aircraft to turn in a balanced manner, making it an important button for directional control.
Right Stick
The right stick controls the ailerons and the pitch up and down.
The right stick is the main method for controlling the aircraft's body direction. In expert mode, quickly moving the stick left and right can achieve a rolling effect. Be aware that the aircraft might drop, so you also need to push the stick down slightly.
Checking the Environment
The environment has a crucial impact on flying, especially for beginners.
The environment should be as open and obstacle-free as possible, avoiding crowded areas or places with tall buildings. It is best to choose days with lower wind speeds to better control the aircraft and reduce unexpected situations. An indoor basketball court, for example, is also a good choice.
Environment Flying Tips
Take off against the wind, as it is harder to control when taking off with the wind.
Land on grass rather than concrete to minimize damage to the aircraft.
Avoid flying in front of the sun; flying with the sun behind you allows for better visibility.
Starting to Fly
Takeoff and Flight
Check the aircraft's connection status by lightly pushing the control sticks to see if the ailerons and rudder are functioning properly.
Switch to beginner mode on the top right corner.
Place the aircraft on the runway, lightly push the left stick to 1/3 throttle, and after a short distance, gently push the right stick down to take off successfully.
Be careful not to push the right stick directly down, causing a nose dive. Other situations in beginner mode will not lead to loss of control, so enjoy your first flight.
Landing
When preparing to land, first lower the aircraft's altitude using the right stick.
Align with the landing runway, ensure the aircraft is level, and gradually reduce the speed to 1/4.
As the aircraft descends, continue to reduce the speed to 1/5, then gently push the right stick up to raise the nose.
Maintain posture and speed, ensuring the aircraft does not stall and fall. Wait for the aircraft to slowly land on the runway.
Note: The smaller the angle between the aircraft and the ground during descent, the smoother the landing.
